서울시의 노후화된 어린이공원 현대화계획의 시범사업으로 현상설계하여 당선된 안으로써 ‘가족공원속의 지역문화’라는 주제로 서울이 갖는 입지 특성, 역사적 배경, 문화, 주변 환경, 지명의 유래 등 지역의 가치에 중점을 두어 계획하였다. ‘마포나루터’, ‘황포돛대’의 지역성을 형상화한 놀이시설물, 어린이들에게 향토성을 일깨워 줄 수 있는 민화, 놀이마당, 정자목 등을 배치하여 공원의 기능 및 지역사회의 문화예술 교류의 장소로 활용되도록 하였다. 그 일환으로 옹벽에 전래동화를 모티브로 한 민화는 지역의 학생들로 구성된 신진작가의 참여로 제작되었다. 어린이는 물론 청장년, 노년층 등 주민 공동생활의 장소, 지역문화, 시민의정서함양에 기여하는 공간으로 놀이 기능뿐만 아니라 가족 모두의 공원이자 마을 공동의 마당으로 복합기능을 갖도록 하였다.

This project was awarded for renovating Seoul city’s old Children park as a model work. Under the concept of ‘regional culture in family park’, this project was planned focused on city’s locational characteristic, historic background, own culture and surrounding context. Recreational installments such as ‘Ma-po boat launch’ and ‘Hwang-po boat launch’ that will remind people a local identity has been situated. They have usage of not only as a park but also as a place for interchange culture through them. Newly rising artists team, made up of regional students and participated to draw folk-painting on retaining walls. Not only children but also youth middle agers and even olders are able to appreciate this complex community courtyard.
